Tackling Tough Talks
As children with physical disabilities grow into adulthood and potentially independence, parents often need help navigating tough conversations related to the transitions and challenges their children may face.
By teaming up with Believe It Foundation, Kinetic Kids is able to provide an opportunity for parents to network with other families, professionals and young adults with similar diagnoses. Offered 2-4 times a year in a very relaxed environment, a moderator guides an open conversation around topics like physical challenges of navigating the world in wheelchairs/walkers/crutches, transportation, body image, hygiene, dating and college.
Typically held on Friday evenings for about 2-3 hours, Tackling Tough Talks is recommended for parents and caregivers of children with physical disabilities ages 7 to 21. Common diagnoses include cerebral palsy and spina bifida.
This event is FREE, but you must register to attend.
